Pascual Sisto is a Spanish artist and filmmaker currently based in the Mojave desert outside of Los Angeles. He graduated with a BFA from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and a MFA from the University of California in Los Angeles. He also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2011 and is a recipient of the 2012 California Community Foundation Emerging Artist Fellowship, the 2011 ARC Durfee Foundation grant and the 2017 NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Digital/Electronic Arts. He was also awarded the Workspace Artist Residency from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council in 2016 and the Visual Arts residency at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn in 2017. His work has been reviewed in Art of America, Flash Art, Los Angeles Times and The New Yorker. His feature film John and the Hole was part of the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival 2020 and the Sundance Film Festival 2021. Variety selected Sisto as one of the ten directors to watch in 2021.
